this piece is two decades old and has some tiny pin prick-size holes that are only noticeable on very close inspection

The skirt is lined with a layer of tulle and a final layer of satin - these layers mean it holds its voluminous shape on the wearer

and the unusual construction of the gown creates a beautiful movement when worn

and the majority of the work falls to the back of the jacket where it has a beautiful collar that is edged in sequins and elaborate lace appliques

The dress could be worn with a petticoat underneath to give the skirt a fuller silhouette but it works very well without which is how we photographed it
