This allows you to fill out your deck with other token generator cards -- stuff like Avenger of Zendikar and Pitiless Plunderer -- and still reliably generate big Squirrel armies on the battlefield, making you feel like a complete Squirrel deck despite not having enough cards to fill out an entire deck with "squirrel" cards

Getting to cast Channel in Commander is a hell of a drug, and thankfully its gated behind a three drop that then needs you to have a power seven or greater creature, and then have that three drop (and you!) survive a full turn cycle
