Thats all thanks to one card, Nihilego, whose ability makes Poison tick damage do an extra 10 damage each turn and it stacks, so with two Nihilego on the bench, each turn will see a Poisoned Pokmon take 30 points of damage
Each of the three historical figures cards has a variant in their own native language - Italian for Leonardo, and Greek (sadly modern Greek, not ancient) for Cleopatra and Sokrates
The other half of the deck is primarily made up of Elf synergy cards, though there are a few odd choices thrown in that make the whole deck feel a little disjointed
As the years rolled on, Tinker got even more busted, thanks to Blightteel Colossus, which now meant Tinker + Time Walk was effectively an immediate combo kill
The best tricks have the ability to win combat and protect a creature from removal, giving them broad situations where you want to use them, and this definitely does that, and can even give you lethal out of nowhere
