Its especially good in your deck if your mana curve is very cheap since you can use the free mode of the card without impacting your 5 or 6 mana cards

Note that this doesnt care about who controlled the creatures that died, so you can throw a bunch of tokens into your Viscera Seer to set up a huge swing of card advantage
