Its somewhat useless in the Merfolk deck with plenty of better options, but in a dedicated Wizards deck, it provides quick ramp into your best spells and a Wizard on the battlefield for Wizards Lightning and Wizards Retort
Jidoor, Aristocratic Capital has an ability that mills half a players library tacked to an adventure, and if you have some ways to return lands from the battlefield to your hand, you can make a pretty good combo (Fear of Isolation, Kor Skyfisher)
If all youre interested in is the card itself for use in-game youre probably not going to want the manga version, which is currently selling for an average of around $1,700
Some believe Commander is more fun without them, others would like more time to see how the Commander Bracket system is adopted before doing anything here, and others felt it's too soon to do anything with these cards
