It just sits on the battlefield growing absolutely everything, and if your opponent can't deal with it in a turn or two, they'll have already lost

When cast (or copy) an instant or sorcery this triggers, and you'll draw that card

There are not too many cards in Obsidian Flames that are worth too much money as has been the case with other cards, but some are pretty valuable indeed
