I've talked to several Hardy aficionados about this reel and none can recall having seen one with a non ported spool like this. And it is in superb condition throughout, a fantastic specimen. The ivorine handle spins freely (with a bit of travel but it is still held on firmly by the post). Great patina on the brass winding plate, with the rod in hand logo
