This and the rest from what I understand came from a  sketchbook of drawings Malta did in the 1930s or so

Good antique condition with some dryness and light cracking to the unfinished wood

Nicely aged and worn

and a few strokes of a thicker white paint--plus remnants of scotch tape in two places along the top edge

Three Old German Painted Wooden Geese on Green Bases tree studies still very bright and crispFor the menagerie, three very sweet, very old, very little little painted wooden geese, German I believe, probably from an old barnyard set. It doesn't take a whole lot to sell me on old wooden animals, but I must say I think these are pretty charming! Sold as a set of three. They range from 1 1 4" to 1 5 8" tall and are about 2" long and 3 4" deep. Well worn, with some paint loss, but structurally just fine.
