I might guess this carving is Southeast Asian / Pacific Islands (I have included an example from Timor for reference)

though one alone makes for a lovely little surprise anywhere

Beautiful Old Wood and Steel Chopper colorful nesting boxes ) Not an especially oldAbout as beautiful an old chopper as I've seen, and clearly a much used one, with the wood darkened and edges softened from the hand or many hands that have used it. Forged steel blade, and square nails holding it in place, and lots of years of use left in it. I might be inclined to hang it on the kitchen wall, but it feels mighty nice to hold. 6 5 8" x 3 1 2" x 1 1 16". Very good, beautifully worn antique condition. The blade could use some
