Rather unusual for being executed on a sort of oil cloth

and while I rarely buy things I wouldn't be very glad to keep for myself

but also for her most beatific face

As a Keepsake, Mid 19th Century Reverse Painted Glass, Foil and Paper Flowers Forget Me Not handprinted spools 4 3/8" l x 1I've found a few mid 19th century "forget me nots" of this sort over the years, though don't come across them very often, and will continue to scoop them up whenever I do. They feel to me midway between Italian reliquaries and Victorian glass domed waxworks, and most of all full of the never ending (and very early Victorian) drive to make momentos of every sort lest one be forgotten. And these of course are best lit by candlelight, with the reverse
