one sees wooden folk animals of this sort on green bases around from time to time but with variation among them so I think perhaps they were made according to plans

and the front cover features an image of "Ramona's House" I believe inspired by Helen Hunt Jackson's popular Victorian novel "Ramona

2 7/8" long x 3/4" wide x 1" tall and in great condition

I like it as much as any slate painting I've seen

And the setting composition, fluttery leaves behind him and spiky ones running in a diagonal to frame his leg, is just right. 4 3 8" x 2 13 16". Very good condition.
