An attractive globular cactus with lumpy but shiny dark green skin. Spines are thin and curved. Stays small and will clump in time. Produces big yellow flowers in the spring or summer. Requires general cactus care. Protect from frost. This species has both a purple flower form and a yellow flower form. They are identical when not in flower but I have
