I assume made for military use holding maps but unusual in form

With lovely engravings

with a bit of light soiling/dust appearing under the surface of the glass in a few spots--minor

Seems to me the world feels a little brighter when wearing a paper hat

Printed on card, like a real photo postcard, but with blank back perfectly matter of fact, like a salesman sample. Someone certainly carried this card around for a while, as it is all sorts of worn and creased.
