which seems exactly right: "bull_" might characterize a lot about our times

it is clear that a photographer's mat once overlaid this just framing the face and upper body of the child

Definitely one of my very favorite old hand-drawn postcards I've ever found--including for the sentiment

Very beautiful the way the posts poke through their holes along sides of the frame, each its own moment, and then these slab like, roughly chopped slivers for the head and foot board. Found with this note, describing it as having been found in an uninhabited plantation house in South Carolina. I don't know more than that it was a New
