I've seen powder horns carved into like scrimshaw (which I always covet) and plenty with hand-carved wooden plugs at both ends

which extend over the black of the lip and base too

There are a few pages that are partially torn and one small hole in the fabric on the spine but overall pretty good condition and binding is holding together well

and clearly a bid wounded now

Not designed by Frederick Froebel, but completely aligned with his blocks sets here with paper "tablets" divided into halves, thirds, quarters, etc., and purple cardboard shapes of corresponding, sequentially
