The paper is a bit brittle and there are a few small tears along the edges: one very tiny torn bit toward the bottom on the left edge and two clean tears that I didn't even notice at first as they pretty disappear when flat--one along bottom edge left

but it does not seem to snap closed tightly (not sure if it ever did

I purchased it from a dealer who had some very fine ceramics

They are made of a mix of construction paper

I have long wanted to find a painting on an old painter's palette, and all the better it be a Scandanavian forest landscape, I believe specifically Danish, signed and dated 1904 on the reverse by brother (Fra) Anlobsopladser (I believe) of Munkebjarg, which, from what I can find, was a favored retreat for painters and artists in the late 19th early 20th century near Veijle Fjord. A rare and special thing,
